I found someone who didn’t intimidate the crap out of me and e-mailed her. Deana Barnhart was kind enough to answer, and a friendship was struck. She encouraged me to start my own blog, saying it would be an easy way to connect with other writers. I was hesitant. I’d started a blog in November of 2010, but had no idea how to reach other writers. All I knew was I wanted to write, so when NO ONE but my MOM visited it, I stopped blogging. But Deana said it would be different this time, and gave me the courage to start fresh as a WRITER WITH A WRITING BLOG.

It took guts to visit a stranger’s blog and GASP! leave a comment. I soon learned blogging writers were JUST LIKE ME! They became discouraged (like me), made mistakes (like me), wanted to be the best writer they could be (like me). I wrote posts methodically, making an effort to be myself, and visited more blogs. My list of writer-friends steadily grew….
