Meet Colleen – The Owner

I lived in Erie, Pennsylvania most of my life.  Though Erie does have beautiful sunsets and a “great” lake, it is only warm enough to really enjoy it for about three months.  The climate here so much milder, the sun shines so much more, and winter here, is only for about three months! My son and I arrived here in Raleigh in 2003 and immediately loved the area.

In Pennsylvania I worked for a privately held companies and for county government. I have a wealth of experience ranging from assistant to the company president to statistical technician and I.T. help desk. You could say I grew up with computers.  I was certified by the PA State Police enabling me to access their database to track perpetrators, and I oversaw and filed time-sensitive state reporting.

For the five years prior to starting my virtual assistant company, I was working as a full-time real estate agent here in Raleigh, North Carolina.  I quickly learned how important social media platforms and networking (on and off of the computer) are to a small business.  As I have such an extensive background in business administration along with the internet and computers, I decided  starting my own business using my background knowledge would be the best way I could help self-employed and micro-businesses, and truly believe in and enjoy what I was doing.  I feel that we should all support our local businesses to help our neighbors prosper.

I also had a very good friend coaching me on.  (You might know her – Assistant Angel.) As she was aware of my background and attention to detail through a prior working relationship that we had, she knew I would really enjoy and grow, personally and in business, going this route. So then there was ColleensREVA, Raleigh’s Elite Virtual Assistants.

I have met so many clients, associates and friends since starting my company, I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life now. I have come to know so many talented, creative and caring people since I have been in business for myself that I truly feel honored to know and work with them.
